The New CR:465 Galactus Noise Monitors to be Launched

Cirrus Environmental is pleased to announce the launch of the new CR:465 Galactus noise monitors at the 30th annual University of California Aviation Noise and Air Quality Symposium. The symposium is being held at the Hilton Palm Springs from the 1st to the 5th March.

The new CR:465 Galactus instruments have been designed to be used in conjunction with external data loggers or environmental measurements systems and provide a wide range of acoustic parameters via an industry standard RS232 data stream.

The Galactus units meet the requirements of IEC 61672 and IEC 61260 and can provide a range of acoustic data points at a rate of up to 1/16 second and full external control of all aspects of the instrument is available via RS232 , including calibration and verification using the electrostatic actuator system.

As well as simultaneous measurement of A, C & Z frequency weightings and Fast, Slow & Impulse time weightings and both 1:1 and 1:3 octave band filters, the Galactus instruments can provide the acoustic information required to calculate the parameters defined in ISO 20906:2009 making the units ideal for the monitoring and measurement of unattended aircraft noise.

The Galactus will be on display alongside the Casper Airport Noise Noise Monitoring software. Casper is a partner of Cirrus Environmental in the airport noise monitoring market and together we can provide a comprehensive range of airport and aircraft noise monitoring and measurement systems.

The symposium is being held at the Hilton Palm Springs from the 1st to the 5th March.
